FEELING TIRED AND ANXIOUS? SIMPLE STRATEGIES TO BOOST YOUR ENERGY AND CALM YOUR MIND:

Feeling tired and anxious is really common so you’re not alone. The demands of our everyday life such as work and family can make us feel drained and imbalanced from time to time.

Here you have a few strategies that will help you boost your energy and calm your mind:

  1. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is a technique that involves focusing your attention on the present moment. Some mindfulness practices include: paying attention to your surroundings, accepting yourself, and focusing on your breathing.
  2. Exercise regularly: When you exercise you release endorphins and these endorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain. This will improve your mood and your overall sensation of well-being. Try to move your body every single day even if it’s just stretching, it will have a massive positive impact.
  3. Get enough sleep: Not getting enough sleep is linked to many health problems such as heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, obesity, and depression. Aim to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night.
  4. Eat a balanced diet: I’m sure you have heard this expression before “We are what we eat” If you eat junk food, you’ll feel link junk, and if you eat healthy you will feel healthy. Try to incorporate plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein into your meals.
  5. Take breaks: It’s really important to take mindful breaks throughout the day to recharge your batteries and reduce your levels of stress and anxiety.

BREAKING THE CYCLE OF FEELING TIRED AND ANXIOUS:

Feeling anxious and tired is a vicious cycle that might be challenging to break free from. However, it’s possible to break this cycle by implementing some simple strategies which include:

  1. Identify triggers: What is actually bothering you? What do you feel is contributing to your anxiety and tiredness? They might be work-related or personal stressors. The first step is to always identify them and after you are aware of what it’s causing it, you can develop the strategies.
  2. Practice self-care: This might be the most useful strategy to stop feeling tired and anxious. Some self-care practices include practicing gratitude, focusing on positivity, journaling, staying connected, and set goals and priorities.
  3. Seek support: Don’t be afraid or ashamed to seek support when needed even if it’s a friend or professional help. Talking about your feelings will, help you get it out of your system and will make you feel relieved and as you’re not alone.
  4. Check-in with basic needs: How is your nutrition? Are you engaging in enough physical activity? Are you getting enough sunlight and fresh air? Do you have social support?

In conclusion, breaking the cycle of feeling tired and anxious is possible with the right strategies and support. By identifying triggers, practicing self-care, seeking the necessary support, and checking in with basic needs.

DO YOU OFTEN FEEL TIRED AND ANXIOUS, EVEN WHEN YOU’RE NOT DOING ANYTHING PARTICULARLY STRESSFUL?

It might be frustrating at first to feel exhausted and drained and not know what’s the reason behind.

Here are a few possible explanations for why you might be feeling tired and anxious, even when you’re not doing anything particularly stressful:

  1. Sleep disorders: You might not be getting enough quality sleep. I recommend not taking caffeine after 2pm as this might disrupt your sleep.
  2. Nutrient deficiencies: As women it’s common to experience low levels of iron as we lose blood during our periods. Taking vitamins can help prevent this.
  3. Hormonal imbalances: If you’re experiencing weight gain or hot flashes, go see a doctor as you might be experiencing hormone imbalances.
  4. Chronic stress: You might be suffering from chronic stress without being aware of it. Practicing mindfulness techniques can massively help.

In conclusion, if you’re feeling tired and anxious there’s always a reason behind it. The first step is to identify where the root cause of this fatigue is coming from. Then, it’s important to implement the strategies that I mentioned above to break this cycle.
